Our fictitious high school graduate who is planning to be a BFA Musical Theatre student is named Tiana Densley. Tiana got into a BFA program on the list of five universities she wanted to attend. During department orientation she met kindred spirits who harbored the same passion for musicals as she. During their Freshman orientation she learned that Freshmen aren’t allowed to perform in any productions. She also noticed the list of courses that she will be taking her Freshman year are mostly history classes, technique classes, and production hours. She became disillusioned that her passion for performance was going to be buried under classes she didn’t need to be a successful actress. Why did this have to happen?
